Commitment to Academic Integrity

The International Journal of Pharma Insight Studies is firmly committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic honesty, originality, and publication ethics. Plagiarism in any form is considered a serious violation of scholarly integrity and is strictly prohibited.

This policy has been formulated in accordance with Scopus publication ethics requirements, COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, and international best practices in scholarly publishing.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the use, reproduction, or close imitation of another author’s work, ideas, data, or language without appropriate acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Direct plagiarism: Copying text, figures, tables, or images without citation.
  2. Paraphrasing plagiarism: Rewriting another work with minor changes while retaining the original meaning without attribution.
  3. Self-plagiarism: Reuse of substantial portions of one’s own previously published work without proper citation or justification.
  4. Duplicate or redundant publication: Submitting the same or very similar manuscript to more than one journal or publishing substantially overlapping content.
  5. Improper citation: Failure to credit original sources accurately and transparently.
3. Originality Requirement

All manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Pharma Insight Studies must:

  1. Be entirely original and not previously published.
  2. Not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  3. Properly acknowledge all sources, references, and contributions.

Submission of a manuscript implies that the authors accept full responsibility for the originality and ethical integrity of their work.

Plagiarism Detection and Screening
  1. Every submitted manuscript is screened for plagiarism using reliable and internationally recognized plagiarism detection software.
  2. Similarity reports are carefully reviewed by the editorial team, considering both percentage overlap and contextual relevance.
  3. Editorial judgment is applied to distinguish acceptable similarity (e.g., references, methodology descriptions) from unethical overlap.
Similarity Evaluation Criteria

While the journal does not rely solely on numerical thresholds, the following general guidelines are applied:

  1. Up to 10% similarity: Generally acceptable, subject to editorial review.
  2. 11–20% similarity: Manuscript may be returned for revision and clarification before further processing.
  3. Above 20% similarity: Considered unacceptable and normally results in rejection.

These limits are indicative; final decisions are based on the nature, source, and extent of the overlap.

Self-Plagiarism and Prior Publications
  1. Authors must clearly cite and disclose any prior publications related to the submitted work.
  2. Reuse of limited text with proper citation may be acceptable; however, substantial reuse of previously published content without disclosure is treated as self-plagiarism and is not permitted.
  3. Conference papers or preprints must be clearly declared at submission.
Plagiarism Identified After Publication

If plagiarism is discovered after an article has been published, the journal will follow COPE-recommended procedures, which may include:

  1. Publication of a correction or clarification.
  2. Issuance of an expression of concern.
  3. Retraction of the article in cases of serious misconduct.
  4. Notification of authors’ affiliated institutions or funding bodies, where appropriate.

All actions will be taken to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  1. Their manuscript is original and ethically prepared.
  2. All borrowed material is clearly cited and referenced.
  3. Ethical standards of academic publishing are strictly followed.

Any attempt to misrepresent originality is considered unethical behavior.

The Editorial Board of the International Journal of Pharma Insight Studies ensures consistent application of this plagiarism policy. All decisions related to plagiarism are taken impartially, transparently, and solely in the interest of academic quality and integrity.
